Growing Together with Suppliers
EVA Air and its suppliers have developed together, supporting each other and growing together through the partnership. To provide better quality and service while at the same time striving towards sustainability, we have formulated strategies for the development of a sustainable supply chain in accordance with the procurement procedures manual. Safety, quality, price, delivery, service and sustainability are clearly defined, and suppliers are invited to participate and invest, and share in innovation opportunities through mutual cooperation.

Supply Chain Conference and Supplier Training
To enhance the sustainability of its suppliers, EVA Air has been organizing supplier chain conferences since 2021. In 2023, a total of 69 suppliers (including 15 critical suppliers) participated conference. We shared EVA Air’s sustainable goals, vision, the current status of our sustainable supply chain, and also took this opportunity to communicate our suppliers’ annual targets. In addition, EVA Air invited the lecturer to share his corporate social responsibility expertise and discuss economic, environmental, and social issues with suppliers. We look forward to helping suppliers understand corporate social responsibility and use the concept when they develop future products or formulate policies so as to realize corporate social responsibility with suppliers all together as well. In addition, to strengthen suppliers’ understanding of corporate sustainability and related issues, education and training materials are developed on aspects such as corporate social responsibility, net zero transformation and circular economy. These materials are provided to suppliers, and the completion rate for supplier training is 100%, 232 suppliers in total.

Supplier Guidance and Capacity Building - Supplier Greenhouse Gas Inventory

EVA Air provides assistance and support to suppliers on specific topics to help them enhance their sustainability capabilities in respective areas. Through long-term capacity building programs and systematic training and guidance, suppliers' practices and performance on ESG issues are improved. In compliance with regulatory requirements from competent authorities, listed companies and subsidiaries in the consolidated financial statements are required to complete greenhouse gas inventories and verifications, as well as disclose carbon emissions and relevant greenhouse gas management information publicly, aligning with the government's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. EVA Air recognizes that the new policies will have an impact on many suppliers, and we are committed to sharing our own experiences with our partners. Since 2022, EVA Air has been assisting four significant suppliers in conducting greenhouse gas inventories and will provide practical experience in inventorying and verification processes. Three of these critical suppliers completed third-party ISO 14064-1 verification in 2023, creating sustainable value in our supply chain partnerships.

Health & Safety Family

EVA Air leads a consortium of 19 companies, including aviation system firms, associated contractors, and notably, four critical suppliers. Guided by the motto “The Heart Is Where Health & Safety Begins; Diligence & Care Create Workplace Safety Wins”, the consortium institutes comprehensive risk management mechanisms. Actively implementing workplace safety and health measures, we aim to prioritize employee well-being. Since its inception in 2023, our Health & Safety Family has hosted three seminars addressing topics related to occupational safety and health.
